"I am very pleased with the work that Terri has done with my horse Sugar.  This has been a dream and goal of mine to raise and train my own foal.  Sugar is everything I could have hoped for.  Thanks to Terri and her gentle training, Sugar is very responsive and calm. She doesn't spook at anything, and is very level headed. She is a perfect dream come true.  THANK YOU TERRI!

Hi Terri,
Clif loves his new horse. We rode at Anderson River Park tonight and the horse was great and did everything he asked. I see he doesn't like to be clipped. We'll work on that. He went right through the water and loaded fine after the ride. We are going to name him Zip Cochise after John Waynes appaloosa. Thanks so much and I hope we can make a wonderful new friendship and ride together. Have a great day,
Kate

I found Terri's ad on Craigslist, called her, and quickly learned that she apprenticed with my riding instructor, Marilyn Sargent, and quickly asked if I could see her
facility and introduce her to my mare. I liked the training barn, and paid Terri for 60 days training under saddle. Boy did I get my money's worth! I bought Savannah, (formerly Sonny), from a very nice gal who had rescued the little paint
mare from a very bad situation. When I first went to "meet" Savannah prior to purchasing her, she was extremely nervous, and bolted when my husband crinkled his soda can in his pocket. She was extremely hard to catch, and very nervous when saddling, and would not let us mount her, before Terri got her. In 2-3 days Terri had her saddling quietly, mounting at a total stand still, and riding in her pasture! I was shocked. I watched Savannah walk over crunchy tarps, drag blankets and poles behind her, even stand while Tamara draped a tarp over my horse! I am incredibly happy with my new found friend, both in my horse, and the Witts Training Team! Savannah is now my safest trail horse of my four, eagerly loads into ANY trailer, and walks up to ME in the pasture, paddock or stall!! I highly recommend Witts Horse Training; you won't find a better deal, or a trainer that will spend as much time on your horses back as Terri does.

Very pleased trail rider,

Kylah Piazza

I would like to post this testimonial. We have had our horse in training at Witts Horse Training - with Terri. She is a wonderful trainer, very patient and quiet in her training techniques. We couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. Our mare Sugar is wonderful - she is quiet and responsive. We were so pleased we took another of our horses down to her for training. I would recommend Terri for all aspects of horse training - try her, you'll like the result!

Dear Terri,

We would like to thank you for the help you gave us with our horse, Quincy. In less than a month you were able to discover why we were having problems with him and help us to learn how to correct them. It is wonderful to know there is someone who is knowledgeable and able to work so efficiently with horses in our area. We found you helpful and your prices reasonable.

Sincerley,
Angie Hansen

I am so happy with scooter, he is everything I wanted and more. He is as tamed and as well manered as ten year old horses. Terri has taught hin leg and voice commands.
He is really lazy, but that just comes with his personality. The only thing that bothered me was that he pulled the reins out of your hand, but we have been working on that and he never does it anymore. If you have a horse that you need trained, I would recomand terri 100 percent.

What I can say about Terri is that she is truly amazing!  My 4 year old buckskin paint, Tuff Enough, has had a very troubled beginning.  Working with him on the ground he was a very good boy, but trying to saddle him was a little bit scary and all I can say is that his previous owners must have done a number on him and he was attacked by a mountain lion in October of 2007.  I took him to trainer in April of 2008 and after quite some time I was told he was crazy. The trainer told me that he threw himself to the ground and bucked for 2 hours straight with the saddle on and that there were too many good horses out there for me to waste my time with Tuff.  Then my friend told me about Terri but of course I was skeptical and I didnt call her right away but I knew he wasnt crazy.   After thinking about it I called Terri told her Tuffs story and we made arrangements for her to evaluate him and
take him on.  I arrived at her facility August 23, 2008 and just 2 weeks with Terri, she was riding my boy.  I left him there for 2 months just so that he had a good foundation and positive reinforcement. I brought him home the first of November
and we have not stopped going.  We have ridden all over Shasta, Tehama and soon Trinity County.  I can ride off by myself or with a group.  It doesnt matter.  We have ridden through some pretty tough country and he may stop and take a look but he does not hesitate to go.  Thank you Terri for looking at it from a different angle and realizing he is not crazy. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

To: Terri Witt

The summer of 2008 I purchased my first horse. A 3-year-old mare. She was not trained. I had no experience either with horses. I had a friend that had a horse said they knew how to train horses. I believed them. They did not. Boy she had some bad training. So I decided to not let my friend train her and to hire a professional horse trainer. (Terri Witt)

Terri turned around what could have been a very negative situation into very positive learning experience for both my horse and me. Terri was patient and kind and understood exactly what my horse needed to turn the bad training around. Shasta had only 30 days training and Terri had her doing everything from trail rides to neck rein, half pass and full pass. Terri also had the challenge of teaching me how to ride to! Shasta and I decided to stay on with Terri for about 6 months. With Terri we had the opportunities to learn more and hang out with her and J D and little Sarah, going on trail rides almost every day. If I had the chance to start over and learn with a schooled horse I would not. I have had so much fun with this horse. We have come along way. After I left Terri's I started to learn English riding we are doing very well. I really miss hanging out with Terri but I had to move my horse back to Redding as it cost a lot in gas to travel to corning.

Terri.

As you know, Bill and I were very apprehensive about finding a trainer for our Raj, a 10-year-old Arabian gelding.  Although we had always trained our own horses, we had owned him for 5 years and not progressed much further than ground work.  Getting older ourselves, and having other green horses, frankly, we needed some help.
After visiting with you at your ranch, we felt that you were the right choice for Raj.  We were right.  We found you to be warm, honest, energetic, and open.  Your love for horses and philosophy that each horse is an individual and should be trained as such was very encouraging to us.
Even though 2 ½ weeks into Raj’s training, you suffered some temporary health issues, you immediately notified us and offered us several options to continue his training until you were “back in the saddle.” Since we felt Raj was doing so well under your hand, we chose to bring him home.
While back home, Bill took him out on the trail and found him to be very responsive and well on his way, so he just kept riding him!  We took him out to the Bend and then on a vacation trip to the coast with our other horses.  Although, of course, he was still green, he did wonderfully.
Additionally, we were both impressed with your business practices.  During your down time you were very diligent to keep in touch with us to check on Raj’s progress, and you made every effort to accommodate us in returning him to your ranch to complete our training contract.
We found you to have a soft, gentle hand and to be persistent and creative in conquering even the smallest of issues identified.  It was obvious that Raj really bonded with you and respected you.  We would not hesitate to recommend you, and, in fact, have done that several times.

Thanks, Bill & Vicky

To Witt’s horse training,
Terri,
I would like to express my appreciation for such a wonderful first 30 days you have put on my stallion "Big N Zip”. I have worked with many trainers over the last 25 years and I must commend you on the quality of ground work I see on my stallion, In the past I have sent a horse for 30 days only to come home with a minimal amount of ground work, BUT with you, I was amazed at the saddle work that was done, Also, my stallion is bombproof on the trail and is learning to move off the leg and in the early stages of having a good rein on him, that is impressive. I have decided to continue his training with your ranch and will let all my friends know of the quality of work you put on a young horse, I appreciate the fact that you get these horses out in real life situations (trail riding< going to Bidwell Park) and they come back with a confidence in themselves that is truly wonderful. I look forward to what the next 60 days will bring me with Big N Zip in your care.
Thanks again

I would like to express my gratitude to Witt's Horse Training!  In only thirty days, Terri was able to break our Percheron to safely ride.  With her great riding ability and techniques she used, I am enjoying him everyday.  I feel she gave us a lot for our money.  I am no longer afraid of his Giant Size!
Thank you Terri!

I love the way Terri trained my mare Jewel. She has turned out to be a very fun horse to ride and is not afraid of much of anything on the trail. Teri takes her time with the horses that she is training. They are very gentle and calm when Terri is done. She puts a lot of time of herself to make sure that when you get your horse back that your very happy with what she has done. I can't wait to bring my new stallion down to her to start training him. I am very excited about it. I couldn't ask for more from a trainer when it comes to training them for the trail. Terri puts a soild fountain on your horse and puts a lot of herself in what she does when comes to training your horse.
Thank You Terri for doing such an awesome job with Jewel.

Hi there Terri!  Just wanted to say hello!  We took Peppy to a gymkhana yesterday and my student rode her through the first 2 events and then leadlined my daughter through the second two events!  Peppy was an absolute angel!  She is so well behaved and never spooks or picks fights with the other horses!  We are so happy with her and love her so much!  Picture attached!

P.S. we are tentatively planning to take you up on the breeding next spring, will keep in touch (how much notice do you want to confirm?)
Thanks again sooooooooooo much, Melanie
